John Ludlow
Colony of Mercy Chaplain
I came to the Colony in 2000, feeling hopeless under the addiction of alcohol, knowing if I didn’t get the help I needed, I would soon be dead. After two days in the Colony, seeing that it was a biblically structured ministry, I knew if there was any hope, this is the place I would find it. After six weeks, I realized that God had not abandoned me and still loved me and wanted me. I understood there was hope for me and help in Christ. Realizing His love for me, I surrendered in obedience to whatever He wanted me to do.
In experiencing the victory I had in Christ, my hope was restored and God put the desire in my heart to help other men who were in the same hopeless state that I once was in. After graduating the Colony of Mercy, I was given a position as Assistant Director in Housekeeping and attended four semesters of classes with The Christian Counseling and Education Foundation at Westminster Theological Seminary. Sometime later, my prayers were answered and I was given the opportunity to be a Chaplain at the Colony of Mercy with the privilege of helping to equip the saints for the work of the ministry to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God to a mature man to the measure of the structure which belongs to the fullness of Christ as stated in Ephesians 2:12 -13.
